Moorea's coral reefs and rich marine life have become a preferred destination of the scuba diving world. Yet there is equal beauty to behold on the land, with rain forests, cascading water falls and tropical fruits of which the pineapple is the most widely famed.

Many restaurants provide Tahitian feast called "Maa'a Tahiti", in which different fruits, vegetables and meats are cooked in an underground oven for several hours in a somewhat ceremonial manner. Another attraction in Moorea is the Tiki village, which is a recreation of an old Polynesian tribal village. Admirers of handicraft and local art including tattooing will enjoy this interesting display of Polynesian culture.
