Dilli is the capital city of East Timor. It is situated on the northern coast of the island on Ombai Strait and has a population of around 60,000. It is the chief port, and commercial centre of the country. The city manufactures soap, perfume, pottery, and textiles; coffee is processed. Exports include cotton, coffee, rice, wheat, sandalwood, wool, copra, and processed hides.
